ABOUT US

Xtify was launched in 2009 to help brands and marketers stay connected to their mobile customers, who – thanks to the meteoric growth of smartphones and mobile applications -- increasingly want their information and entertainment on the go. The premise was simple: content and promotional offers are far more useful when delivered directly to consumers at the time and place in which they can act on them immediately. In other words, relevancy is key.

At the heart of Xtify’s solution is the use of persistent location – technology inherent in Apple’s iOS 4.0 and the Android OS – which registers a user’s location anonymously from his or her smartphone on a continuous basis. Using persistent location, marketers can send useful messages to consumers’ smartphones when they enter a predefined geographic area, or “geo-fence.” Consumers don’t have to open up the brand’s app to find out if there’s a special offer – the offer is automatically triggered when the consumer is in the vicinity to use it immediately. Thus, the Xtify name was inspired by the adage “X marks the spot."

Xtify is based in the bustling SoHo neighborhood of New York City and led by a team of passionate entrepreneurs and technologists who’ve been a vital part of Silicon Alley since its founding. Xtify is funded by Acadia Woods, SeventySixCapital and other angel investors.
